The UK’s Independent Child Trafficking Guardianship (ICTG) is a support service for potential victims of modern slavery or human trafficking that are under 18. It provides an independent source of advice and support for children within the criminal justice, immigration and social care systems, irrespective of nationality or immigration status. Referral statistics to the ICTG have been published as follows:
- For year ending March 2024, there were 2,478 referrals. The majority were aged 15 to 17 (80%; 1,971), with 20% (496) aged 14 or below.
- This is a 7% decrease from the year ending March 2023 (2,674)
- From January 2017 to March 2024, the service received 9,008 referrals.
