Description:
Work Rights Centre (WoRC) is a registered charity (No. 1165419) dedicated to ending in-work poverty and fighting against labout exploitation.
Experience, Background and Services:
WoRC supports EU workers exit precarious work (poorly paid, unprotected, and insecure employment) which is widespread in many sectors in the UK, as well as vulnerable individuals to access the labour market. The organization delivers a range of activities, including outreach activities, drop-in regular advice and information services, workshops on employment rights/employability and mentoring. We are accessible and individuals trapped in exploitative work can contact us by coming in public spaces where we deliver our activities, by calling us, emailing or writing to us via social media.
Our staff and volunteers speak several EU languages, including Romanian, Polish, Bulgarian, Italian, Latvian and Russian. We do not provide legal advice but what we can do is help people to understand their rights, improve employability, and take every step necessary to restore their rights, which does not require legal advice. Our staff and volunteers are all trained on key concepts, legal context as well as referrals in relation to human trafficking.
