Experience, Background and Services:
Mirjam is a trained Psychologist and Psychotherapist with 15 years experience in the modern slavery and human trafficking field. She offers global expert consultancy and training services focusing on service development and staff support for organisations working in the modern slavery field and with other survivors of trauma. She is a highly specialised trauma therapist and frontline caseworker who has experience working with the Poppy Project/Eaves, British Refugee Council and Freedom from Torture, UK.

Mirjam has completed Doctoral research investigating vicarious trauma in frontline practitioners working with trafficking survivors. Based on this research she has developed a reference manual for staff development and support when working with survivors of trafficking. She is particularly interested in delivering training with focus on vicarious trauma, burnout prevention, psychological first aid and self-care practices for frontline staff working with survivors of trafficking.

Mirjam offers global consultancy services; she is based between the United Kingdom and Denmark.
