Description:
The National Human Trafficking Hotline is available to answer calls, texts, & chats from anywhere in the country, 24/7 every day of the year.

Experience, Background and Services:
The National Human Trafficking Hotline (o la Línea Nacional Contra la Trata de Personas) is a program of Polaris, a non-profit, non-governmental organization working exclusively on the issue of human trafficking. The Hotline is not a government entity, law enforcement, or an immigration authority.

Polaris operates the National Human Trafficking Hotline and Befree Textline to connect survivors to critical support to get help and stay safe. Polaris is a leader in the global fight to eradicate modern slavery. Named after the North Star that guided slaves to freedom in the U.S., Polaris systemically disrupts the human trafficking networks that rob human beings of their lives and their freedom. Our comprehensive model puts victims at the center of what we do – helping survivors restore their freedom, preventing more victims, and leveraging data and technology to pursue traffickers wherever they operate

To access the reporting and referral resources of the Hotline, survivors should call 888-373-7888, text BEFREE or HELP to 233733, or chat with an advocate through the website at https://humantraffickinghotline.org/chat . Available to assist anyone needing help regarding a human trafficking situation or seeking information about human trafficking. No services provided on-site, Hearing and speech-impaired individuals can contact the hotline by dialing 711, the free national access number that connects to Telecommunications Relay Services (TRS).

Anti-Trafficking Hotline Advocates speak English and Spanish and can communicate with callers in more than 200 additional languages using a 24-hour tele-interpreting service. Text, chat, Email, and online tip report services are currently available in English and Spanish only.

Advocates receive intensive two-week training upon hiring and additional monthly follow-up trainings on all topics of human trafficking, from force, fraud and coercion, to victim-centeredness, safety planning and protocols for reporting and providing appropriate referrals.
