Description:
A results-oriented, purpose-driven multi-lingual leader with proven ability to optimise any organization. Passionate about building infrastructure, stakeholder management and programs to address the needs of disadvantaged individuals. Excellent organizational, planning, coordination, managerial and analytical skills with specialised expertise in building and operationalising policies and programs.

Experience, Background and Services:
I am a Foreign Fulbright scholar with a Master of Arts Degree in Security Studies and over 25 years working in national security, nine of which have been in leading national efforts to counter human trafficking.

I have a working knowledge of French and Spanish and am a native English speaker. I aim to make a difference in my society and the world at large by influencing policy.

I have extensive experience in drafting National Plans of Action, Developing and implementing Awareness campaigns, training stakeholders, overseeing police investigations and Victim Care. I coordinate meetings and operations and liaise extensively with local regional and international partners. I work closely with migrant victims to rehabilitate a d restore them and guide them to independent living.

During my first eleven years at the Ministry of National Security as a Research Officer, I engaged in Research and reporting on Illicit trafficking and Countering Terrorism. I subsequently pursued a Master of Arts Thesis on The Shining Path of Peru, an active terrorist organization based in South America.

During my nine years at the Counter Trafficking Unit (CTU), I had the opportunity to coordinate and lead several national and regional collaborative efforts to counter human trafficking in Trinidad and Tobago. I also had the honour to represent Trinidad and Tobago at over ten international and regional conferences, providing insight into how countries can effectively address the issue of human trafficking.

During my tenure at the CTU, my portfolio included the development and delivery of specialized training modules and extensive collaboration with government and non-government organizations, civil society groups, international organizations and foreign embassies and missions based in Trinidad and Tobago. I was able to achieve this with very limited financial and human resources and in a highly sensitive political climate.

Contributions made under my leadership included recommendations and implementation of some of the recommendations made by the United Nations CEDAW, Organization of American States, and the International Organization for Migration. As such, Trinidad and Tobago made significant strides in responding to human trafficking and observing the rights of all victims.
